Community and Content Guidelines

These guidelines apply to everything shared on Lawaen: ratings, comments, business replies, photos, business details, menus and services, prices, offers, events and suggestions. They explain what is welcome, what is not, and what happens when content breaks the rules. They sit alongside the Lawaen Terms of Use.

1. Share genuine experiences

- Rate and comment only on places you have actually visited or used. - Describe your own experience honestly. Criticism is welcome when it is about the place, its products or its service. - Do not rate or comment on your own business, your employer's business or a competitor's business. - Do not offer, ask for or accept money, discounts or gifts in exchange for a rating or a comment, and do not post from several accounts. - Business owners must not pressure customers to post, change or remove a rating or a comment.

2. Respect people

- No insults, harassment, bullying or humiliation of anyone, including staff, owners and other users. - No threats, intimidation or encouragement of violence. - Comment on the experience, not on the person. Do not single out a named person for abuse.

3. No hate

Do not post content that attacks, demeans or excludes people because of their religion, sect, ethnicity, nationality, origin, gender, disability or any similar characteristic.

4. No spam

- No advertising, promotional messages or unrelated links in comments or replies. - No repeated, copied or meaningless posts. - No content unrelated to the place, offer or event it is posted on.

5. No fake businesses and no impersonation

- Apply only for a business you own or are authorised to represent. - Do not list a business that does not exist, and do not claim someone else's business. - Do not pretend to be another person, another business or the Lawaen team.

6. Keep business information accurate

- The name, category, city, address, map location, opening hours, contact details and links must be correct and current. - Menus, services and prices must match what you actually offer. Showing a price is optional; if you show one, keep it current. - Offers and events must be real, with the correct dates and conditions. Do not advertise a discount or an event that will not happen. - Photos must show the real place, products or services.

7. Illegal and prohibited content

Do not post or promote: - anything illegal, including goods or services that are illegal to offer; - scams, fraud, or links to harmful or misleading websites; - sexually explicit content, or any content that sexualises or endangers children; - graphic violence, or content that glorifies violence; - content that infringes someone else's rights.

8. Personal and private information

- Do not post anyone's personal information, such as phone numbers, home addresses, identity documents or private messages, without their permission. - Do not post photos in which people can be identified without their permission. - Business contact details belong in the business profile, not in comments.

9. Photos, logos and text that belong to others

- Upload only photos you took yourself or have permission to use. - Do not use another business's name, logo, photos, menu or text as your own. - Do not copy text or photos from other websites, apps or social media accounts without permission.

10. Permission to upload

When you upload a photo or other material, you confirm that you have the right to share it on Lawaen and that anyone who can be identified in it has agreed. If you are not sure, do not upload it.

11. Moderation and removal

- Our team reviews business applications, claims, the business changes that need approval and notification requests before they go live. - We may remove content, or reject an application, a claim, a change or a request, when it breaks these guidelines or the Terms of Use. - We do not remove a genuine rating or comment only because it is negative. - Not everything is reviewed before it appears, so reports from users and businesses help us.

12. Reporting a problem

- Wrong information about a place: open the place and use Report to tell us what is wrong. Our team reviews every report and lets you know the outcome. - An abusive comment, a photo, a logo, or anything else that breaks these guidelines: open a support request in Help Centre → Contact options, choose the category "Problem with a place", and include the name of the place, offer or event and what is wrong. - A photo, logo or text that belongs to you: open a support request in Help Centre → Contact options, choose the category "Other", say what the material is and where it appears, and confirm that you own it or act for its owner.

13. Repeated or serious breaches

Repeated or serious breaches can lead to limits on features, rejection of applications and changes, or suspension or closure of the account. We act in proportion to what happened and how often it happened.

14. Asking us to review a decision

If we removed your content or rejected your application or change and you think we got it wrong, contact us through Help Centre → Contact options and explain why. A rejected business application can also be corrected and submitted again from the Business Centre.
