Lawaen Terms of Use

Effective date: 4 October 2026 1. About these Terms These Terms of Use govern your use of Lawaen: the Lawaen mobile app, the Lawaen website and the Lawaen Business Centre (together, "Lawaen"). Lawaen is operated by Sevda Company, a Syrian single-person limited liability company registered in Damascus under Commercial Registration No. 0111020279 ("we", "us"). You can contact us at support@lawaen.com. Lawaen helps people discover places, offers and events in Syria. It also gives businesses a Business Centre where they can present their business after our team has reviewed it. Please read these Terms together with the Lawaen Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal data, and the Lawaen Community and Content Guidelines. 2. Accepting these Terms When you create an account, you are asked to accept these Terms and the Privacy Notice. When you accept a specific version, we record which version you accepted and when. When we publish a new version, you may be asked to review and accept it before you continue. If you do not accept these Terms, do not create an account or use the parts of Lawaen that need one. 3. Who can use Lawaen Lawaen is intended for people aged 16 or older. You must be at least 16 to create an account, submit ratings, comments, photos or other content, suggest places, make business claims, or use Business Centre features. If you are under 16, do not create an account or provide personal information through Lawaen. Public place information may still be browsed without an account. You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. An account is personal to you; do not share it, sell it or let someone else use it. 4. Your account and its security You sign in with your phone number or email address and your password. We send one-time codes by WhatsApp to your phone number, or by email to your email address. We use them to confirm your account and before sensitive actions, such as: - resetting your password; - changing your phone number or email address; - recovering or deleting your account. Keep your password and codes private, and do not share them with anyone, including people who say they work for Lawaen. Where two-step verification is available for your account, we recommend turning it on. Tell us through the Help Centre straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of a failure on our side. 5. Using Lawaen, and business accounts You can browse and search Lawaen without an account. With an account you can also: - save places, offers and events; - rate places and comment on them; - suggest a place that is missing; - claim a business you own; - contact our support team. Business owners manage their businesses in the Business Centre with the same Lawaen account. One account can manage more than one business. In the app, you can switch between your user side and the Business Centre from the settings; each side keeps its own signed-in session. 6. Searching and location You can search across all of Syria, within a city you choose, near you, or around a point you pick on the map. Searching near you uses your device location only if you allow it. You can use Lawaen without sharing your location by choosing a city or searching across Syria. Information about places, offers, events, menus, services, prices and opening hours comes mainly from the businesses themselves and can change. Check important details with the business before you rely on them, such as prices, opening hours and the terms of an offer. 7. Comments, ratings and other content you share You may rate places, post comments, upload photos and share other content where Lawaen allows it. Your content must: - be honest; - be your own, or something you have permission to share; - follow the Community and Content Guidelines. Your ratings and comments are shown publicly on Lawaen with your name and profile photo, and the business sees them too. You can change your rating by rating the place again. A business can reply to comments about it; replies are shown as coming from the business. You keep ownership of the content you share. You allow us to store, display, resize, compress and show it within Lawaen for as long as it is published there. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the Guidelines, including content that is reported to us and found to break them. You can ask us to review such a decision through the Help Centre. 8. The Business Centre 8.1 Applying and claiming To list your business, you submit an application with the business details and photos. Our team reviews every application. - An application can be approved, or rejected with a reason. - A rejected application can be corrected and submitted again for review. - We tell you the decision by a notification and, if your account has a phone number, by WhatsApp. If your business is already listed, you can claim it instead. Our team reviews every claim. You may apply for or claim only a business that you own or are authorised to represent. We may ask you to prove this. 8.2 Accuracy You are responsible for the business information you provide. This includes the name, category, city, address, location, description, contact details, links, opening hours, photos, menus or services, prices, offers and events. It must be accurate, lawful and not misleading, and you must keep it up to date. 8.3 Changes that need approval Some changes to an approved business are sent to our team for review and go live only after approval: - name; - description; - address; - city and category; - location on the map; - contact details and links; - opening hours. While a change is under review: - the business shows its current approved details; - only one change request can be pending at a time; - you can follow the request, and cancel it. If we reject a change, we tell you why. Some parts are published when you save them, without review: - photos and search keywords; - menus and services; - offers and events. They remain subject to these Terms and the Guidelines. 8.4 Menus, services, prices, offers and events You can present a menu or a list of services. Showing a price for a menu or service item is optional; any price you show must be accurate and current. Offers and events must describe real offers and events, with the correct dates and conditions. When you publish an event, people who saved your business may be notified. Lawaen does not sell products, take payments or take bookings. Any purchase or arrangement is between you and your customers. 8.5 Business tools The Business Centre gives you: - statistics about how people find and use your business on Lawaen; - the ability to reply to comments; - a QR code for your business page; - other tools we may add. Notifications to users that you request are sent only after our team approves them. Tools that depend on approval become available only after your business has been approved. 8.6 Disputes about ownership Contact us through the Help Centre if: - someone else claims your business; or - you believe a listing is presented as yours without your permission. We may limit changes to the listing while we look into it. 9. What you must not do You must not: - break the law, or use Lawaen to harm, harass, threaten or deceive others; - post false or misleading reviews, ratings, business information, offers or events; - review your own business or a competitor's business; - pretend to be another person or business; - apply for or claim a business that you are not authorised to represent; - upload content that you do not own or have no permission to use, including other people's photos, logos or text; - share other people's personal or private information without their permission; - send spam; - use automated means to access, copy or scrape Lawaen; - try to get around our security, rate limits or review processes, or interfere with how Lawaen works. 10. Our action on breaches If you break these Terms or the Guidelines, we may: - remove content; - reject an application, a claim or a change; - limit features; - suspend or close accounts. We act in proportion to what happened and how often it happened. You can ask us to review a decision through the Help Centre. 11. Lawaen's own content and brand The Lawaen app, website and Business Centre, their design, and the Lawaen name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only to use Lawaen as these Terms allow. 12. Availability and changes to Lawaen We work to keep Lawaen available and accurate. We may change, add or remove features, and we may need to pause Lawaen for maintenance or security reasons. 13. Deleting your account You can delete your account from your account settings after confirming with a one-time code. - When you confirm: your account is closed and signed out on every device. - Within 13 days: you can recover the account by signing in. - After 13 days: the deletion is completed. Businesses you managed are released from your account. The Privacy Notice explains what happens to your data. You may also stop using Lawaen at any time. 14. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms. Each version has a version number and an effective date. When we make a change that affects your rights, we will ask you to review the new version in the app or on the website. 15. Contact For help, reports and requests, use Help Centre → Contact options in the app, on the website or in the Business Centre. For notices about these Terms: support@lawaen.com.
